Eleven (11) Local Shops Fail Tobacco Compliance Checks

The Federal Food and Drug Administration mandates strict adherence to the age requirements for the use of tobacco products. The Hamilton County Coalition, in partnership with local law enforcement, conducts regular compliance checks. During July and August 2025, 51 compliance checks were completed in Hamilton County, Tennessee. Eleven of the 51 checks failed to comply with the established law. A list of those businesses that failed to comply is listed below.
The failure rate in Chattanooga, Hamilton County, 22% compared to the State of Tennessee 9%, is more than two times higher.

Compliance and Enforcement
FDA closely monitors retailer, manufacturer, importer, and distributor compliance with federal tobacco laws and regulations and takes regulatory or enforcement action when violations occur. To assist regulated industry, CTP created a flowchart that outlines and describes the compliance and enforcement process related to the manufacture, distribution, and sale of unauthorized electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS).
