HCSO Participates in Drug Take-Back Event

Hamilton County, TN – Earlier today, personnel from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Property & Evidence Unit, along with Reserve Deputies, participated in a Drug Take-Back Event at Access Pharmacy, located at 4062 Hixson Pike. The event was held in partnership with the Hamilton County Coalition and Access Pharmacy.

Together, participants collected 139 pounds of unused, expired, or unnecessary prescription medications. Safely disposing of these medications prevents potential misuse, theft, or contamination of the county’s water system.

This event is one of several annual drug take-back initiatives in which HCSO Property & Evidence personnel actively engage to serve Hamilton County and promote public safety.

Residents may also safely dispose of prescription medications Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., at the following HCSO locations:

  • HCSO West Sector Building – 6233 Dayton Boulevard, Chattanooga, TN 37343

  • HCSO Law Enforcement Operations Center – 6125 Preservation Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37416

  • Hamilton County Jail & Detention Center (Main Entrance) – 601 Justice Way, Chattanooga, TN 37421

Events like this help ensure medications are properly disposed of, supporting a safer and healthier Hamilton County.

Thank you to Property and Evidence Supervisor Heather Crow, Property and Evidence Technician Arnold Navarro, Sergeant Rick Wolfe, and Property & Evidence UTC Intern Laken Coppinger for participating in this event.
